Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2008 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction LIECHTENSTEIN: Property from the Collection of the Princely House of Liechtenstein., which included the work Portrait of A Gentleman, Half-Length, In A Black Costume With A White 'Molensteenkraag'; And Portrait of A Lady, Half-Length, In A Black Costume With A White 'Molensteenkraag' And Headdress by Gerard van Donck. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 13,450.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerard van Donck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Marriage Portrait Of A Husband And Wife Of The Lossy De Wariné Family in June 2010 with an auction result of USD 290,500.00 (€ 236,351.80).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2008 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion LIECHTENSTEIN: Property from the Collection of the Princely House of Liechtenstein. durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of A Gentleman, Half-Length, In A Black Costume With A White 'Molensteenkraag'; And Portrait of A Lady, Half-Length, In A Black Costume With A White 'Molensteenkraag' And Headdress von Gerard van Donck zur Versteigerung kam.
