In January 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Master Paintings & Sculpture Part I, which included the work Repentant Mary Magdalene by Gerard Seghers. The »bidding war« ended at USD 746,000.00 (€ 614,750.72), 49% above the upper estimate. With this result, Repentant Mary Magdalene is even the most expensive work of art by Gerard Seghers that we have observed at auctions so far.
