Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2011 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now, Art from the 19th, 20th and the 21st Centuries, which included the work Portrait of Yayoi Kusama by Gerard Fieret. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 2,250.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gerard Fieret - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in April 2017 for USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,457.55).
