Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Coastal Architectural Capriccio At Sunset by Gerard Houckgeest was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2012. The price achieved of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 12,459.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerard Houckgeest achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The west end of the Oude Kerk, Delft, from the southern aisle to the north, with the organ loft in December 2006 with an auction result of GBP 187,200.00 (€ 277,828.23).

Die Arbeit A Coastal Architectural Capriccio At Sunset von Gerard Houckgeest kam im Mai 2012 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 12.459,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gerard Houckgeest erzielen.
