The work The Lamentation by Gerard David was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2013. It achieved a price of GBP 386,500.00 (€ 441,643.62), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 29%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gerard David achieve.
