A top price for Gerard David
This artwork by Gerard David achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in July 2018. In the Old Masters Evening Sale auction, the work The Holy Family sold for GBP 4,846,250.00 (€ 5,433,711.88) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,500,000.00. This high result makes The Holy Family the most expensive artwork by Gerard David that we have observed at auctions so far.
