Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2008 Sothebys in London held the auction Russian Paintings, which included the work Market Scene by Georgy Ivanovich Gabashvili. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,430.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georgy Ivanovich Gabashvili achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Bazaar In Samarkand in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 1,136,000.00 (€ 899,873.26).
