Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Donkeys At Rest by Georgy Ivanovich Gabashvili was auctioned at Sothebys in London in June 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,690.23). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georgy Ivanovich Gabashvili achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Bazaar In Samarkand in April 2006 with an auction result of USD 1,136,000.00 (€ 899,873.26).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Donkeys At Rest von Georgy Ivanovich Gabashvili im Juni 2008 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.690,23) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georgy Ivanovich Gabashvili erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Bazaar In Samarkand im April 2006 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.136.000,00 (€ 899.873,26).
