Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Young girl in the fields by Georgios Jakobides was auctioned at Bonhams in London in November 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 18,675.00 (€ 20,847.60). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Georgios Jakobides achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Greeg Randpa'S New Pipe in April 2008 with an auction result of GBP 535,700.00 (€ 682,941.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Young girl in the fields von Georgios Jakobides im November 2020 bei Bonhams in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 18.675,00 (€ 20.847,60) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Georgios Jakobides erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Greeg Randpa'S New Pipe im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 535.700,00 (€ 682.941,80).
