Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Lake George Reflection by Georgia O'Keeffe was sold in the American Art auction at Christies in New York in May 2016. Here, the upper estimate of USD 12,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 12,933,000.00 (€ 11,614,728.33). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georgia O'Keeffe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1, which sold at auction in November 2014 for USD 44,405,000.00 (€ 35,701,077.34).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Lake George Reflection von Georgia O'Keeffe wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion American Art bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 12.000.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 12.933.000,00 (€ 11.614.728,33) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Georgia O'Keeffe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Jimson Weed/White Flower No. 1 beobachtet, die im November 2014 für USD 44.405.000,00 (€ 35.701.077,34) versteigert wurde.
