In October 2017 Christies in Paris held the auction REGARDS CROISÉS : COLLECTION JEAN-FRANÇOIS & MARIE-ALINE PRAT - DAY SALE, which included the work Embrasure XI, 1987 by Georges Rousse. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 6,875.00 72% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georges Rousse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mezy, 2001, which sold at auction in October 2009 for EUR 15,301.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 72 % übertroffen
Im Oktober 2017 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion REGARDS CROISÉS : COLLECTION JEAN-FRANÇOIS & MARIE-ALINE PRAT - DAY SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit Embrasure XI, 1987 von Georges Rousse zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 6.875,00 und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Georges Rousse mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mezy, 2001 beobachtet, die im Oktober 2009 für EUR 15.301,00 versteigert wurde.
