This artwork by Georges Rochegrosse achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in June 2017. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work French idle Moments sold for GBP 30,000.00 (€ 34,164.40) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georges Rochegrosse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work French The Chattering Birds, which sold at auction in October 2008 for USD 170,500.00 (€ 134,442.52).

In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings wurde die Arbeit French idle Moments für GBP 30.000,00 (€ 34.164,40) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Georges Rochegrosse mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit French The Chattering Birds beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für USD 170.500,00 (€ 134.442,52) versteigert wurde.
