In June 2018 Sothebys in Paris held the auction Tableaux, Sculptures et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle, which included the work The Migration Of The Buffalos by Georges-Frédéric Rötig. The result of EUR 15,000.00 was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Georges-Frédéric Rötig - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mountain Goats, which sold at auction in October this year for USD 42,840.00 (€ 40,537.47).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juni 2018 führte Sothebys in Paris die Auktion Tableaux, Sculptures et Dessins Anciens et du XIXe siècle durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Migration Of The Buffalos von Georges-Frédéric Rötig zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von EUR 15.000,00 entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Georges-Frédéric Rötig mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Mountain Goats beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für USD 42.840,00 (€ 40.537,47) versteigert wurde.
