In March 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS, INCLUDING SCOTTISH PICTURES, which included the work Calves and black-faced ewes with a sheepdog by George William Horlor. It changed hands for a price of GBP 4,935.00 (€ 7,963.12) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00.
