Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Richmond Castle, North Yorkshire by George Shalders was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,673.42). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Shalders - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A meeting at sunset, which sold at auction in September 2007 for GBP 5,625.00 (€ 8,065.84).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Richmond Castle, North Yorkshire von George Shalders im Juli 2007 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.673,42) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von George Shalders mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A meeting at sunset beobachtet, die im September 2007 für GBP 5.625,00 (€ 8.065,84) versteigert wurde.
