Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Travel & Exploration, which included the work The Citadel of Saladin on the Mokattam Hills, Cairo by George Price Boyce. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 600.00 – 800.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 637.50 (€ 735.24) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Price Boyce achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Old Barn At Whitchurch in May 2014 with an auction result of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 38,407.26).
