This artwork by George Price Boyce achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in May 2014. In the A Green and Pleasant Land: Two Centuries of British Landscape Painting auction, the work Near Streatley, Berkshire sold for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,681.45) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by George Price Boyce have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Old Barn At Whitchurch in May 2014 with an auction result of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 38,407.26).
