Auction result well in line with expectations
The work When Thoughts Turn to Boots Made of Horsehide by George Phippen was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in April last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 828.75 (€ 786.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Phippen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Visitor in April 2019 with an auction result of USD 35,075.00 (€ 31,314.17).

Die Arbeit When Thoughts Turn to Boots Made of Horsehide von George Phippen kam im April letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 828,75 (€ 786,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Phippen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Visitor im April 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.075,00 (€ 31.314,17).
