In March 2001 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS, INCLUDING SCOTTISH PICTURES, which included the work Queens Drive, Looking to Morrone, Braemar by George Melvin Rennie. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 587.50 (€ 947.99), 47% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by George Melvin Rennie have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Autumn, near Banchory Devenick, Low Deeside in October 2000 with an auction result of GBP 4,935.00 (€ 8,435.33).

Im März 2001 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PAINTINGS, INCLUDING SCOTTISH PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Queens Drive, Looking to Morrone, Braemar von George Melvin Rennie zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 587,50 (€ 947,99) und damit 47% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Melvin Rennie auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Autumn, near Banchory Devenick, Low Deeside im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.935,00 (€ 8.435,33).
