Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Moonrise near Braemar by George Melvin Rennie was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2004. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200.00 – 400.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 239.00 (€ 361.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Melvin Rennie achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Autumn, near Banchory Devenick, Low Deeside in October 2000 with an auction result of GBP 4,935.00 (€ 8,435.33).
