Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Still life with pears, grapes, plums and tomatoes by George Lance was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in June 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 13,000.00 (€ 1,281.57). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Lance achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Burgomaster'S Dessert in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 20,912.50 (€ 30,082.52).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Still life with pears, grapes, plums and tomatoes von George Lance im Juni 2021 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 13.000,00 (€ 1.281,57) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Lance erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Burgomaster'S Dessert im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.912,50 (€ 30.082,52).
