In September 2000 Christies in London held the auction BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES, which included the work Grapes, lilies, hollyhocks, convolvulus, cobnuts, redcurrants, a peach and goldfish in a bowl, on a marble ledge by George Lance. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,539.04), 41% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by George Lance have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Burgomaster'S Dessert in November 2004 with an auction result of GBP 20,912.50 (€ 30,082.52).

Im September 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion BRITISH AND VICTORIAN PICTURES durch, in der auch die Arbeit Grapes, lilies, hollyhocks, convolvulus, cobnuts, redcurrants, a peach and goldfish in a bowl, on a marble ledge von George Lance zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.115,00 (€ 3.539,04) und damit 41% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Lance auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Burgomaster'S Dessert im November 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.912,50 (€ 30.082,52).
