It achieved a price of GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,818.83), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 67%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by George Hyde Pownall; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Piccadilly Circus; and The Empire, Leicester Square sold at auction in December 2018 with the realized price of GBP 18,125.00 (€ 20,192.86).
