In the American Art Online auction, the work Sunday Afternoon Callers sold for USD 68,750.00 (€ 62,392.23) - well above the upper estimate of USD 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Hughes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Writing Thank You Notes, which sold at auction in November 2019 for USD 200,000.00 (€ 181,504.67).
