Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Andromeda; and The spirit of the marsh by George Henry Edwards II was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 437.50 (€ 555.85). Admittedly, works by George Henry Edwards II have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Enid in June 2008 with an auction result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 5,056.13).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Andromeda; and The spirit of the marsh von George Henry Edwards II im Juli 2008 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 437,50 (€ 555,85) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Henry Edwards II auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Enid im Juni 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 5.056,13).
