Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Henry Boughton could be acquired at Christies in New York in March 2007 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction, the work Ducks by a Pond changed hands for USD 2,400.00 (€ 1,794.53) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Henry Boughton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Tanagraean Pastoral in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 15,275.00 (€ 18,000.24).
