In April 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Original Illustration Art from the Collections of Kendra and Allan Daniel, which included the work Hester and the clergyman in the forest by George Henry Boughton. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,750.00 (€ 2,530.19), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by George Henry Boughton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Tanagraean Pastoral in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 15,275.00 (€ 18,000.24).

Im April 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Original Illustration Art from the Collections of Kendra and Allan Daniel durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hester and the clergyman in the forest von George Henry Boughton zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.750,00 (€ 2.530,19) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Henry Boughton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Tanagraean Pastoral im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 15.275,00 (€ 18.000,24).
