Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2017 Christies in London held the auction Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art, which included the work Dolce far niente by George Hamilton Barrable. The price achieved of GBP 17,500.00 (€ 19,527.31) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Other works by George Hamilton Barrable have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2004 the work Intercepted was auctioned for GBP 15,535.00 (€ 23,120.73).

Im Juli 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dolce far niente von George Hamilton Barrable zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 17.500,00 (€ 19.527,31) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von George Hamilton Barrable konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juni 2004 die Arbeit Intercepted für GBP 15.535,00 (€ 23.120,73) versteigert.
