Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Lady, Circa 1795 by George Engleheart was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,842.77) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Engleheart achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A young lady, facing right in low-cut white dress, white shirt with high standing lace-bordered collar, lace cap and straw bonnet tied with white ribbons in her dark brown curling hair in December 2002 with an auction result of GBP 45,410.00 (€ 69,706.62).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Lady, Circa 1795 von George Engleheart kam im Juli 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.842,77) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Engleheart erzielen.
