Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2011 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors - Style & Spirit, which included the work Ten Ornithological studies, from A Natural History of Uncommon Birds by George Edwards. The price achieved of GBP 2,500.00 (€ 2,944.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Edwards - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Twelve Ornithological Studies, from A Natural History of Uncommon Birds, which sold at auction in May 2012 for GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,541.27).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors - Style & Spirit durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ten Ornithological studies, from A Natural History of Uncommon Birds von George Edwards zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 2.944,79) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von George Edwards mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Twelve Ornithological Studies, from A Natural History of Uncommon Birds beobachtet, die im Mai 2012 für GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.541,27) versteigert wurde.
