This artwork by George Edwards achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March 2005. In the THE HOUSE SALE auction, the work A Natural History of Uncommon Birds: Four Plates sold for USD 1,560.00 (€ 1,202.87) - well above the upper estimate of USD 800.00. Admittedly, works by George Edwards have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Twelve Ornithological Studies, from A Natural History of Uncommon Birds in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 6,541.27).

Dieses Kunstwerk von George Edwards erzielte im März 2005 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion THE HOUSE SALE wurde die Arbeit A Natural History of Uncommon Birds: Four Plates für USD 1.560,00 (€ 1.202,87) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 800,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Edwards auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Twelve Ornithological Studies, from A Natural History of Uncommon Birds im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 6.541,27).
