Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Edward Lodge could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Astor Collection from Tillypronie, Aberdeenshire auction, the work Herring gulls struggling against a heavy wind changed hands for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,406.69) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,800.00 – 2,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Edward Lodge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study of rabbits; and Study of a blue hare in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 15,473.61).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Edward Lodge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Study of rabbits; and Study of a blue hare im Dezember 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 15.473,61).
