Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of a man in profile, said to be Thomas Stothard (1755-1834) by George Dance The Younger for USD 437.50 (€ 302.39). This price was achieved in the auction The House Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Dance The Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work "The Nobodies" in January last year with an auction result of USD 5,292.00 (€ 4,719.94).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of a man in profile, said to be Thomas Stothard (1755-1834) von George Dance The Younger für USD 437,50 (€ 302,39) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The House Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von George Dance The Younger erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit "The Nobodies" im Januar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.292,00 (€ 4.719,94).
