In May 2011 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Portrait of Samuel Lysons, half-length, in profile to the left by George Dance The Younger. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 625.00 (€ 714.69), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by George Dance The Younger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work "The Nobodies" in January last year with an auction result of USD 5,292.00 (€ 4,719.94).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Portrait of Samuel Lysons, half-length, in profile to the left von George Dance The Younger zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 625,00 (€ 714,69) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von George Dance The Younger auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit "The Nobodies" im Januar letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.292,00 (€ 4.719,94).
