Sold at the upper estimate price
The work Portrait studies of Sir Charles Pratt, 1st Earl Camden (1714-1794), Caleb Whitefoord (1734-1810) (illustrated), and Charles Bingham, Earl of Lucan (1735-1799) by George Dance The Younger was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2016. The auction ended at the price of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,338.32), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Dance The Younger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work "The Nobodies", which sold at auction in January last year for USD 5,292.00 (€ 4,719.94).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Portrait studies of Sir Charles Pratt, 1st Earl Camden (1714-1794), Caleb Whitefoord (1734-1810) (illustrated), and Charles Bingham, Earl of Lucan (1735-1799) von George Dance The Younger kam im Dezember 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 2.000,00 (€ 2.338,32) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Dance The Younger mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit "The Nobodies" beobachtet, die im Januar letzten Jahres für USD 5.292,00 (€ 4.719,94) versteigert wurde.
