Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2006 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures, which included the work In The Garden by George J. Charlton. The price achieved of GBP 336.00 (€ 481.43) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200.00 – 400.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George J. Charlton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Bloomsbury In The Sun, which sold at auction in November 2005 for GBP 840.00 (€ 1,234.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit In The Garden von George J. Charlton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 336,00 (€ 481,43) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 200,00 – 400,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von George J. Charlton mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Bloomsbury In The Sun beobachtet, die im November 2005 für GBP 840,00 (€ 1.234,07) versteigert wurde.
