six stipple-engravings with aquatint in colors, 1808-12, with additional hand-coloring, on laid papers, published by Longman, Hurst, Rees, Orne & Brown and John Lepard, London, with margins, light- staining to varying degrees on all plates, Plates XXI, XXV and XXVII with scattered foxing and staining mostly along the plate edges, otherwise apparently in good condition, in faux-gilt bamboo frames, not examined out of the frames

Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by George Brookshaw could be acquired at Christies in New York in June 2002 for an unexpectedly low price. In the The House Sale auction, the work Pomona Britannica, or a Collection of the Most Esteemed Fruits at Present Cultivated in Great Britain: Six Plates changed hands for USD 1,434.00 (€ 1,454.95) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Brookshaw - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Four Handcolored Aquatints From: Pomonica Britannica, A Collection Of The Most Esteemed Fruits, which sold at auction in January 2001 for USD 4,935.00 (€ 5,301.89).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von George Brookshaw konnte im Juni 2002 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden.
