This artwork by George Blackie Sticks achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in November 2000. In the British and Victorian Pictures auction, the work A summer day on the Cumberland Fells; and Near Tarbert, Loch Fyne, evening sold for GBP 1,997.50 (€ 3,264.83) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 900.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Blackie Sticks - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Glenfinlas, Brigg of Turk, which sold at auction in October 2006 for GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,653.89).

Dieses Kunstwerk von George Blackie Sticks erzielte im November 2000 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion British and Victorian Pictures wurde die Arbeit A summer day on the Cumberland Fells; and Near Tarbert, Loch Fyne, evening für GBP 1.997,50 (€ 3.264,83) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 900,00. Für andere Arbeiten von George Blackie Sticks mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Glenfinlas, Brigg of Turk beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für GBP 7.800,00 (€ 11.653,89) versteigert wurde.
