Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2007 Christies in London held the auction British, Continental & Russian Pictures & Prints, which included the work A good spot for fishing, Glencoe by George Blackie Sticks. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 3,360.00 (€ 4,944.47). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by George Blackie Sticks - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Glenfinlas, Brigg of Turk, which sold at auction in October 2006 for GBP 7,800.00 (€ 11,653.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2007 führte Christies in London die Auktion British, Continental & Russian Pictures & Prints durch, in der auch die Arbeit A good spot for fishing, Glencoe von George Blackie Sticks zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 3.360,00 (€ 4.944,47) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von George Blackie Sticks mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Glenfinlas, Brigg of Turk beobachtet, die im Oktober 2006 für GBP 7.800,00 (€ 11.653,89) versteigert wurde.
