Sold at the lower estimate price
In December 2010 Christies in London held the auction The Barratt Collection - from Crowe Hall, Bath, which included the work An italianate river landscape with an angling party, mountains beyond by George Barret. The result of GBP 20,000.00 (€ 23,199.94) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Barret achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A wooded river landscape with a man fishing in the foreground, a shepherd playing a flute beside a flock of sheep and a town beyond; and A wooded river landscape with fishermen in a boat, a ruined building beyond and figures crossing a bridge in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 481,250.00 (€ 558,248.55).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A wooded river landscape with a man fishing in the foreground, a shepherd playing a flute beside a flock of sheep and a town beyond; and A wooded river landscape with fishermen in a boat, a ruined building beyond and figures crossing a bridge im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 481.250,00 (€ 558.248,55).
