Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Mountainous Wooded Landscape With Figures By A River In The Foreground by George Barret was sold in the Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in July 2011. The price achieved of GBP 37,250.00 (€ 42,749.95) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by George Barret achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A wooded river landscape with a man fishing in the foreground, a shepherd playing a flute beside a flock of sheep and a town beyond; and A wooded river landscape with fishermen in a boat, a ruined building beyond and figures crossing a bridge in December 2010 with an auction result of GBP 481,250.00 (€ 558,248.55).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Mountainous Wooded Landscape With Figures By A River In The Foreground von George Barret wurde im Juli 2011 in der Auktion Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A wooded river landscape with a man fishing in the foreground, a shepherd playing a flute beside a flock of sheep and a town beyond; and A wooded river landscape with fishermen in a boat, a ruined building beyond and figures crossing a bridge im Dezember 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 481.250,00 (€ 558.248,55).
