Auction result fails to reach estimate
When the work Portrait of a bearded man with a fur hat and a bottle by Georg Roessler was auctioned at Bruun Rasmussen in May this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously set the estimate at DKK 3,000.00, but this failed to be met - in fact, the artwork changed hands for DKK 1,550.00 (€ 208.04). Admittedly, works by Georg Roessler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Bavarian figure smoking a pipe in August 2011 with an auction result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,129.32).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt den Schätzpreis
Als die Arbeit Portrait of a bearded man with a fur hat and a bottle von Georg Roessler im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bruun Rasmussen versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit DKK 3.000,00 angegeben, den dieses Werk bei seiner Versteigerung leider nicht erreichen konnte - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für DKK 1.550,00 (€ 208,04) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Georg Roessler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Bavarian figure smoking a pipe im August 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.129,32).
