In December 2019 Il Ponte held the auction Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, which included the work Gomera by Gastone Novelli. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 45,000.00 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Gastone Novelli have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Caro Vietnam (Dear Vietnam) in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 187,250.00 (€ 207,157.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2019 führte Il Ponte die Auktion Arte Moderna e Contemporanea durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gomera von Gastone Novelli zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 45.000,00 und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gastone Novelli auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Caro Vietnam (Dear Vietnam) im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 187.250,00 (€ 207.157,32).
