Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Carnations, tulips, peonies and other flowers in a terracotta pot, with tulips, carnations, narcissi and other flowers overflowing from a wicker basket by Gaspar Lopez was sold in the The Carraro Rizzoli Collection Treasures from a Milanese Palazzo auction at Christies in London in December 2006. The price achieved of GBP 19,200.00 (€ 28,495.20) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gaspar Lopez - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work An Outdoor Still Life With Flowers On A Fountain And On A Ledge; An Outdoor Still Life With Flowers In A Vase On A Ledge, A Straw Hat Filled With Fruit On The Floor, which sold at auction in July 2013 for GBP 74,500.00 (€ 85,129.24).
