Auction result well in line with expectations

The work View of Naples with the English Fleet from the sea by Gaspar Butler was sold in the Old Master & British Paintings - Evening Sale auction at Christies in London in July 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 217,250.00 (€ 249,326.88) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Gaspar Butler have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July 2011 the work View of Naples with the Riviera di Chiaia from the strada di Posillipo, with Vesuvius beyond was auctioned for GBP 229,250.00 (€ 263,098.67).
