Auction result misses estimated price range
In November this year a collector was able to acquire the work Stoop Philosopher 18 x 24 in. framed 26 1/2 x 32 1/2 in. by Gary Carter for USD 1,920.00 (€ 1,760.18). This price was achieved in the auction California and Western Art Online at Bonhams in Los Angeles and was even below the estimate range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Gary Carter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Battle of Adobe Walls 1874 (Isa-Tai Bad Medicine) in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 11,250.00 (€ 9,886.63).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November diesen Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Stoop Philosopher 18 x 24 in. framed 26 1/2 x 32 1/2 in. von Gary Carter für USD 1.920,00 (€ 1.760,18) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion California and Western Art Online bei Bonhams in Los Angeles erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gary Carter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Battle of Adobe Walls 1874 (Isa-Tai Bad Medicine) im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 11.250,00 (€ 9.886,63).
