Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Pencitraan Asean Hero-Bruce Lee by Galam Zulkifli was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2008, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 60,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 187,500.00 (€ 15,452.37). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Galam Zulkifli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Communination Vs Communication (Seri Face Biografi), which sold at auction in October 2008 for HKD 325,000.00 (€ 33,058.67).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Pencitraan Asean Hero-Bruce Lee von Galam Zulkifli im April 2008 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 60.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 187.500,00 (€ 15.452,37) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Für andere Arbeiten von Galam Zulkifli mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Communination Vs Communication (Seri Face Biografi) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2008 für HKD 325.000,00 (€ 33.058,67) versteigert wurde.
