This artwork by Gaetano Previati achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in April 2000. In the Impressionist and 19th Century Art auction, the work A moment of meditation sold for GBP 8,225.00 (€ 14,080.87) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 4,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gaetano Previati; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Italian meadow sold at auction in November 2012 with the realized price of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 20,018.35).
