In July 2018 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours, which included the work Two views of the river Nile, Egypt by Gabriele Carelli. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,708.39), 38% above the upper estimate. Other works by Gabriele Carelli have achieved even higher prices, we observed the highest auction result so far of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,027.80) in September 2014 for the work Four Italian landscapes.
