Auction result well in line with expectations
In December this year Bonhams in London held the auction The Grand Tour Sale, which included the work The Amphitheatre at Taormina, with Etna in the distance by Gabriele Carelli. The price achieved of GBP 2,304.00 (€ 2,654.12) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gabriele Carelli - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Four Italian landscapes, which sold at auction in September 2014 for GBP 6,250.00 (€ 8,027.80).
